Privacy Policy

Last updated: 20 May 2026

Muddle is operated by James Simpson. This policy explains what personal information I collect when you use Muddle, how I use it, and your rights around it.

What I collect

When you create an account: your email address and a hashed password.

When you use the app: the ingredients you add to your bar, the cocktails you save, and any notes you attach to them.

When you use the cocktail suggestion feature: your ingredient list is sent to Anthropic (the company behind the AI that powers suggestions) to generate results. Anthropic's own privacy policy governs how they handle that data.

I don't collect your name, location, or payment information at this stage.

How it's stored

Your data is stored with Supabase, a database platform whose infrastructure is hosted in the United States. By using Muddle, you consent to your data being stored and processed outside Australia.

What I use it for

Solely to provide the service — matching your ingredients to cocktails, saving your recipes, letting you access your bar across devices. I don't use your data for advertising, and I don't sell it to anyone.

Cookies

Muddle uses session cookies to keep you logged in. No tracking or advertising cookies.

Deleting your data

You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from the Account settings page. Deletion is immediate and permanent.

For a copy of your data or to correct it, email james93simpson@gmail.com and I'll respond within 30 days.

Australian Privacy Act

I handle personal information in accordance with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles where applicable.

Changes to this policy

If I make material changes, I'll update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of Muddle after changes constitutes acceptance.
